WooCommerce and MYOB Acumatica, connected for trade ecommerce

For Narangba Timbers, we built a WooCommerce trade store around MYOB Acumatica. Trade customers see their own prices, quotes and orders flow into MYOB, and invoices appear in their online account.

The problem

Narangba Timbers sells timber and building supplies to builders, trades and the public.
Their old website didn’t work the way their business did.

  • Trade prices lived in MYOB

Retail, business, trade and contractor customers each had their own prices in MYOB, but the old website couldn’t show the right price to the right customer.

  • Quotes and paperwork by phone

Builders had to ask for quotes, and invoice copies came from the office, so staff handled too much by phone and email.

  • Hard to find the right product

A large timber catalogue was hard to search, especially by size, and pickup and delivery weren’t clear enough for trade customers.

What we built around MYOB

Weka, an MYOB partner, provides the connector between WooCommerce and MYOB Acumatica.
EUX designed and built the WooCommerce store, trade features and customer experience around that connection.

Working with Weka

Connected to MYOB Acumatica

Weka’s connector moves the data. We set up the WooCommerce store to use it and worked with Weka on how each part should map into MYOB.

Products, categories and customers come from MYOB, including each customer’s price level, so the catalogue and accounts are managed in one place.

Website orders go into MYOB as sales orders, with payment, customer and shipping details.

We worked with Weka on how quotes, delivery dates, invoices and customer data should map between the store and MYOB, then adjusted the WooCommerce store to suit.

Trade pricing

Each customer sees their own prices

We built the store so trade pricing is read from MYOB rather than copied manually onto the website.

Retail, business, trade and contractor customers see the prices set for them in MYOB when they log in.

Prices come from MYOB through the connector, so the website does not need to be updated by hand every time pricing changes.

Customers can search a size like 90x19 and go straight to the right product, with that size already selected.

Quotes

Online quotes customers can come back to

We built a custom request-a-quote system for builders pricing up a job.

Customers add products to a quote, see delivery costs for their postcode and get the quote by email.

From their account, customers can reopen a quote, change it and check out with their details already filled in.

When a quote is accepted, it goes to MYOB as a sales order linked to the original quote, so the office can close the quote in MYOB.

Invoices and accounts

Invoices in the customer’s account

We built the customer account so trade customers can help themselves.

Customers can see their invoices in their online account and download them as PDFs, using invoice details from MYOB.

Order history, reordering and a wishlist make repeat trade orders quicker.

Customers choose which order updates they receive by SMS.

Delivery and collection

Delivery dates and quick collections

We rebuilt checkout around how the yard actually works.

Customers choose pickup or delivery, a date and delivery instructions, with rules like no weekend or same-day delivery. The date goes to MYOB as the requested date.

Customers get an SMS link to a collection page with a QR code for their order and an I’m here button that lets the yard team know they have arrived.

Delivery costs come from the store’s shipping zones, so quotes and orders show the right delivery price.

How it works for a builder

From pricing up a job to collecting the timber.

Quotes and orders land in MYOB for the office team

  1. 01
Logs in and sees their prices

Their trade price level comes from MYOB, so every product shows the price they’ll pay.

  2. 02
    Finds the right size

Searching 90x19 takes them straight to the product with the size picked.

  3. 03
    Builds a quote

They add what the job needs, see delivery costs and get the quote by email.

  4. 04
    Comes back and pays

They edit the quote or pay it from their account, and it reaches MYOB as a sales order linked to the quote.

  5. 05
    Delivery or collection

They pick a delivery date, or collect with a QR code, and their invoice is waiting in their account.

Planning a WooCommerce and MYOB project?

Every MYOB setup is different. We start by looking at what lives in MYOB, how your customers buy, and what the online store needs to do. We can work with your MYOB partner or connector provider, then build the WooCommerce store, trade features and customer experience around it.

Tell us which MYOB product you use, who looks after it, and what you want the store to do. We’ll tell you what is possible, whether a connector already exists, and what would need to be built around it.

It depends on your MYOB product, connector, catalogue, customer pricing rules and what the store needs to do.

A simple connection is very different from a full trade store with customer pricing, quotes, invoices, delivery rules and account features. After an initial conversation, we give you a fixed quote so you know the scope, timeline and price before work starts.
