Our Tyro gateway for WooCommerce

A WooCommerce payment gateway built for Tyro Pay Connect, for Australian stores that want online card payments connected properly to their checkout.

Card entry

Card entry inside your checkout

Customers pay by card without leaving your store.

Card details are entered into Tyro’s secure card fields inside your checkout, so card numbers are not handled by your WooCommerce site.

Customers pay with Visa, Mastercard or Amex, or with Apple Pay and Google Pay, in Australian dollars.

When the bank requires extra checks, 3D Secure is handled as part of the checkout flow.

Payment confirmations

Orders confirmed by Tyro

The store should not rely on the customer’s browser to know whether a payment went through.

Tyro confirms each payment to the store with a signed message, which the store checks before it trusts the result.

Confirmations are processed in the background and duplicate messages are ignored, so an order is not confirmed twice.

Orders that were started but never paid are tidied up automatically.

Refunds and settings

Refunds from the WooCommerce order screen

Your team can manage payments from WooCommerce, not a separate portal.

Refund all or part of an order from the WooCommerce order screen.

Separate test and live settings, so the full payment flow can be tested before taking real payments.

Tyro credentials are stored securely in WordPress.

Built to work with WooCommerce’s High-Performance Order Storage.

Online card payments go through Tyro, the same provider as your in-store EFTPOS.

We’re a Tyro partner, so we can also help with terminals, rates and online payments. Tyro payments with EUX.

Other payment work we’ve built

When a standard gateway doesn’t fit how a business takes payment, we build the payment flow around the way the store actually sells.

The process

How we build a payment gateway

Payments are the part of a store that cannot fail quietly, so testing takes as much care as the build itself.

Fixed quote before we start

  1. 01
    Map the payment flow

We map how customers pay, what happens when a payment fails, how refunds work, and what your accounts team needs to see.

  2. 02
    Build against the sandbox

We build with the payment provider’s test environment, so no real money moves while the gateway is being developed.

  3. 03
    Test every case

Approved, declined and abandoned payments, 3D Secure, refunds, duplicate confirmations and edge cases, using the provider’s test cards and test cases.

  4. 04
    Launch carefully

We switch to live payments with your team and watch the first orders closely.

  5. 05
    Look after it

Payment gateways need updates when WooCommerce, WordPress or the provider changes. We can cover that with a support plan.

It depends on the payment provider and what the payment flow needs to do.

A standard gateway setup is very different from a custom gateway with authorisations, refunds, webhooks, edge cases and testing. After an initial conversation, we give you a fixed quote so you know the price before we start.
